There are two leading styles that students use in citations. The APA and MLA formats. Although they are usually applied to different topic parameters, the concepts of citation are just the same. Since you are using an info form a source, you have to enclose the sentence or phrase in quotation marks. Afterward, you have to put the author’s last name after the closing quotation mark. For the APA format, put the year of publication. For the MLA, you can put the page number. Here is an example for both: (Smith, 1977), (Smith 5).

Citing dissertation can be done by repeatedly using in text citation. But since some students will use more than one source, a bibliography page is necessary. Writing the entire in the page is easy. You only need to list down the source of info that you have utilized. There is a format for this. Write the author’s last name, the first letter of his given name, year of publication, title of his work, publishing company, city of publication and page numbers. Each entry should be separated by commas. List the entries in alphabetical order and you are done with citing dissertation.
