Are you familiar with the basic dissertation chapters? We are here to help you. If you do not know the parts of a dissertation, our articles can help you learn the basics. Let us give you a short list of these segments that are necessary in a PhD research paper.

Abstract: this part is created by summarizing the general ideas in the dissertation. It should only be about 300 to 500 words. Do not overpopulate it with very specific info.

Introduction: this chapter involves presenting the main topic. You can talk about the background of the subject and why it was chosen. Cite reasons why it is important to talk about the particular topic. Keep in mind that the introduction chapter should contain the thesis statement.

Literature review: this is the segment that is formed by synthesizing different documents. It should be a review of other files that are related to your topic. You can get different segments of data from different sources.

Methodology: the part that explains how you were able to gather data and what analysis methods were used. It can be tedious to write but a very important addition to the dissertation chapters.

Data and Analysis: this chapter should contain the data and the results that you have acquired. It must have the necessary info that can be used to sustain the results for the hypothesis.

Discussions and Conclusion: it should have the main summary of the entire essay but with a resolution to the thesis statement. Unlike the abstract, the conclusion should have the finalizing idea for the whole dissertation paper.
