Dissertation Cover
You know that a dissertation paper involves many pages and chapters. One of these pages is the cover page. It is the very first part of the research paper that a reader will see. Usually, we denote a cover page to be the nametag of our papers. This is true because it provides details about the research paper. It is a very easy page to build but you should know that it contains different data and you have to include all of them. Let us discuss how to write a dissertation cover page.
The dissertation cover page includes three basic parts. The first one is the title of the research paper. You can write the title at the upper portion of the page. You may put it within the first 30% of space from the top. The title of the paper must be in centered position. If you have a secondary line for the title, make sure that you put it in center position as well. The title of the dissertation paper must be in title font. It means you can only have the first letter of each word in capital letters. There should be no underlined words, italicized words or quotation marks. Do not use any fancy looking fonts. Stick with the formal ones like Times New Roman or Arial. This is applicable to all other parts of the dissertation cover page. The next part or detail is the name of the author. You should write your name just below the title with a little spacing in between. Of course, the author’s name must be in centered position that should align with the title. The last detail in the cover page is the class block. It will include the class section, the academic year, the professor’s name and the date of submission. You can have all these info at the bottom part of the page. Make sure to provide each detail with its own text line.
Depending in the type of format that you will use, the dissertation cover may need to include the pagination style. In the APA format of writing, you need to put a shortened version of the title at the upper right hand corner of the cover. If the title contains a few words, then you might as well put all of them. Afterward, put the page number of the page in Roman numeral.
One the other hand, a dissertation cover under the MLA format may have a different approach in writing the page numbers. Instead of having the title, you can put your last name beside the page number. In some cases, a cover page for essay in MLA format may not be necessary. You can simply integrate your name and the title into the very first page of the introduction paragraph.
