Writing Your Film Dissertation
The process of writing a research paper depends on many factors. First, you have to choose a topic of interest. Them, you need to build a thesis statement. Later, a proposal should be made so that the adviser can approve it. Afterwards, you can start the research and writing process. In a film dissertation, these same tasks are involved. However, you can concentrate your topic selection to films and movies. It is actually one of the primary topics that college courses can require. This is of course dependent on the kind of subject that you are taking. If you are enrolled in a film or broadcasting course, then most probably you will be writing a film dissertation.
A film dissertation needs to have an abstract. The abstract serves as an overview of the entire paper. Please do not mistake it for a summary. The abstract is simply a general approach to let the readers know what the research is all about. In this case, it should only have 300 to 500 words total. Do not include too many details and specific information.
The introduction serves as the cradle for the topic background. It should give the readers some info on why the topic was chosen. Moreover, it should have the thesis statement and the goal of problem. This way, the readers will have an idea what approach the discussion will take.
Literature review chapter is the next part. This includes a review of different materials that the researched has used. The review is important because it gives a definite purpose in writing the topic. Therefore, the readers will see that other researchers have already done a research on the same topic, making it significant.
Next is the methodology. This part includes at least two segments of discussions the first one is the data gathering process. You have to mention the types of methods that you used to acquire data. Next, you also need to discuss the different ways you have analyzed the paper. This is important because statistical calculations should be presented in great detail.
The data and analysis chapter must also be included in the paper. This segment should present graphs, tables and illustrations of the data. If you wish to include some pictures, you may do so to make the paper more attractive.
Lastly, the film dissertation should also have a conclusion. This is the final chapter of the paper. This segment should contain the conclusion for the thesis statement. It must also summarize the entire research paper to make sure that the ideas are compressed in a digestible way. The conclusion should also provide some recommendations if the research is not fully satisfied with his research results.
