Tips for Beginners: How to Write a Thesis Statement

It is very important that you know how to write a thesis statement. Basically, this ability lets you provide a very concise and coherent discussion in your dissertation paper. So what does a thesis statement do in the first place?

The thesis statement is an affirmation of an idea for researching. Sometimes, it is also called the problem statement because through researches, you will be able to solve it and find answers for the question at hand. Usually, the thesis statement is written as the first sentence of the entire paragraph. In some cases, it may be the last sentence in the introductory paragraph if you wish to develop a background discussion first.

The main concern is whether you can come up with a good idea to write about. There are at least three parts of a thesis statement:

1.    The Limited Scope-This is the part where the writer involves the presentation on what the subject and study is all about.
2.    The Specific Opinion-The part where an affirmation of the writer about a topic is presented. This reflects the true goal of the study.
3.    Causes and Reasons-This part provides the actual plan that will be executed in order to resolve the problem or question in the thesis statement.
